Ocala: Heritage Country Inn: "A Wonderful Place to Stay"

We spent Thursday through Sunday at Heritage County Inn and loved it. I went with my husband and 2 children. The room was bigger than it seemed on the picture and the bathroom was huge. Everything was very clean and well maintained. It is located in the middle of beautiful horse fields.

The hosts are the nicest couple. Every morning while Mrs. Gross cooked, Mr. Gross served us. The food was great and way too filling. And on Sunday morning, which was Easter, they gave my kids an Easter basket with some eggs and candy. That was very thoughtful.

We have family in Dunellon and will definitely stay here again.

Our first stay at the Heritage was very positive. The room and bathroom were both very large. The setting in the middle of horse country was very peaceful. Get rid of some of the artery clogging breakfast items(sausage, bacon, salami and chopped ham in the eggs) and all of the plastic flowers and this place would be 5 stars.

Would I stay at this location again:  absolutely!

We stayed here for just the one night on our way down to Naples and would definitely stay there again. The room we had (The Remembrance Room) was beautifully decorated, having a big (if quite squeaky) four-poster bed and a huge bathroom. Our hostess was really friendly and the 3 course breakfast the following day was delicious and set us up for our journey.

It was much better than staying in one of those impersonal hotel rooms.

Ocala: Heritage Country Inn: "Great Choice"

My husband and I stayed at the Heritage Country Inn last Saturday and were very pleased! We would definitely stay there again. We originally looked at hotels right in Ocala and determined that they all looked like your average chain located on a main road, probably next to a strip mall. The Heritage Country Inn was the complete opposite and for only a few dollars extra. The Inn has only a few (6 or 8?) rooms and ours was big, clean, homey and private. There were candles and even a log (for burning!) in the fireplace. Our bed was very comfortable and our room was quiet. The next morning the owners served us a hearty breakfast (included in the price), complete from oatmeal to eggs to a waffle and fruit! The Inn is about 11 miles from Ocala--a very easy drive. We went to Ocala for dinner and it took us less than 15 minutes to get where we were going. We stumbled upon the Inn on this tripadvisor Web site and could not be happier that we did. We felt that the Inn was a great value and a wonderful alternative to the other offerings in Ocala.

About 4 yrs ago, our family had Thanksgiving Dinner at the Heritage Inn in Dunnellon, FL/Ocala, FL and it was stupendous. Due to unforseen circumstances we sincerely regret not being able to return. Now that we have moved to Stuart, FL we hope to go back more often....hell, we'd move in if they had the room!!!
